Amy Bommarito is in her second year with the University of Miami Athletics Department and her first as the Assistant Director for Business Operations/HR.
She serves as the human resources liaison for the department, while also handling the Nike Elite program, game contracts, trade requests and reconciliations, student employment, reiumbursements, taxable benefits and cell phones for the department's staff.
Originally from St. Louis, Mo., Bommarito played collegiate volleyball for Washington University in St. Louis from 2003-06, winning the Division III National Championship as a freshman in 2003. A 2006 graduate of WUSTL with a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in business, she added a master's in sports management from Alabama in 2010.
Prior to arriving in Coral Gables as the travel coordinator and operations intern for the 2010-11 academic year, Bommarito was an assistant volleyball coach and worked with the Director of Athletics at North Central College (Ill.) in 2007-08 and then served as the director of volleyball operations at Alabama from 2008-10.
