Alana Eichman is in her third year as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Miami. She is primarily responsible for the health care of the women's basketball and rowing teams.
Prior to working with UM, Eichman was an athletic trainer with Select Medical Corporation in Orlando, where she worked with the entertainment cast members at Disney World. Her responsibilities included immediate care, recognition, greenroom and show coverage, individual strength and conditioning program design and implementation, and providing interventions.
Before working at Disney World, Eichman served as an assistant athletic trainer for Ohio University for over two years, handling the daily medical needs for the women's basketball, women's volleyball and softball teams. In addition to handling all general athletic training responsibilities, she also served as an approved clinical instructor for CAATE (Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education).
Eichman earned her bachelor's degree in science at the University of Central Florida in 2003, and added a masters' degree in the administration of higher education with a minor in sports management in 2005 from Auburn. She was a graduate-assistant athletic trainer for the Tigers, primarily covering the football and equestrian teams.
