Tyler Wessel is in his fourth year with the University of Miami Athletics Department, serving as the Assistant Director of Events.
He oversees the home event management of men's & women's basketball, volleyball and men's & women's tennis events, while also assisting with football, baseball and track & field.
Additionally, Wessell oversees all three University of Miami spirit groups, coordinating their administrative needs and travel, scheduling community appearances and supervising the coaches. Other duties include hiring and scheduling gameday staff for home athletic contests, as well as supervising the Sugarcanes - the University of Miami bat girls.
Before returning to UM in 2008, Wessell served as the community relations intern with the NFL's Carolina Panthers.
A native of western North Carolina, Tyler earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Miami in 2006 and is on track to complete his master's degree in education in 2011.
