McGahee's emergence as a big-play threat from anywhere on the field has brought even more explosiveness to an attack that already boasts what is perhaps the nation's most diverse arsenal of weapons. A third-year sophomore who is in his first season as Miami's starting tailback, McGahee has skyrocketed into national prominence this season. He has earned serious consideration as a Heisman Trophy candidate and is prominently mentioned for possible First Team All-America honors. Already a Doak Walker Award candidate for the prize of College Football's outstanding running back, the Miami native is having an outstanding season.
