Four members of the University of Miami women's swimming and diving team; Britta Boesing, Heather Bounds, Nancy Gajos and Brittany Viola along with Ruben Ross of the men's diving squad have been named to the All-ACC Academic Swimming and Diving teams announced Thursday by Commissioner John D. Swofford.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his or her academic career.

Bounds, a senior majoring in business administration, earned NCAA All-America honors in platform diving and was an honorable mention in both the 1-and 3-meter diving events. Viola, who was voted 2006-07 ACC Freshman Female Diver of the Year, received All-America distinction in the platform and honorable mention honors in the 3-meter at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Boesing, a sophomore whose major is sports administration, competes in the backstroke while Gajos, a senior majoring in pre-pharmacy, swims in the butterfly and IM events.

Ross, a freshman engineering major, earned All-America honors in 2007 and was the ACC champion in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
