The Priority Point System allows for an organized ranking of donors within each giving level for various allocations including seating location for home and away football games, season ticket upgrades, parking permit allocation, and all post-season tickets. This system allows the Hurricane Club to more effectively reward our active annual fund donors for their loyalty and all their efforts to make our athletic program one of the best in the nation.

Active Hurricane Club donors earn points from the criteria listed below.

  • Current annual fund donation
  • Total lifetime giving to the athletic department
  • Consecutive years purchasing season tickets for each sport
  • Consecutive years of membership in the Hurricane Club
  • University of Miami Alumni
  • University of Miami Athletics Letter Winner
  • Signing up new members to the Hurricane Club
Ranking

Each active donor receives a ranking. The ranking is based on the total priority points each donor has earned. Rankings and Priority Points are updated three times a year as donors have the opportunity to accumulate additional points by making donations, purchasing season tickets annually, and referring new members.

Each active donor receives a ranking among the total number of current members. The ranking is based on the total priority points each donor has earned. Rankings can continuously change as donors have the opportunity to accumulate additional points by referring new members, making additional donations and purchasing season tickets each year.

Active Hurricane Club donors who wish to take advantage of annual fund benefits such as parking, away football game tickets, football season ticket upgrades, and all post-season game tickets will be rewarded based on their ranking. The ranking will determine ticket and parking allocation within each donor's giving level.

Should you have any questions about the Priority Point System or your account status, please contact the Hurricane Club at 305-284-6699 or e-mail us at hurricaneclub@miami.edu.

We appreciate all that our donors do for UM Athletics. Thank you and Go Canes!

1. If we already have donor levels, what is the purpose of the point system?

The purpose of the Priority Point System (PPS) is to reward our donors and promote annual giving by providing an objective, competitive fundraising vehicle. The point system will in no way replace our giving levels. You are still required to be at the specific giving levels for away game tickets, bowl/tournament tickets, parking, Dolphin Stadium seating, etc. The Priority Point System will allow for an organized ranking of donors within each giving level for various allocations.

2. Will the Priority Points System affect where I sit in Dolphin Stadium?

Yes. Seating priority areas in Dolphin Stadium will be determined by annual giving levels to the Hurricane Club. The PPS is designed to supplement the existing Hurricane Club donor levels to provide an objective breakdown within donor categories.

3. What if I feel my point totals are incorrect?

You may download from hurricanesports.com or request a simple "appeals form" that must be completed in full and returned to our office with an accompanying letter explaining the nature of your appeal.

4. Your records only go back to 1988, how do I get credit for gifts and season tickets prior to that date?

Please use the appeals form and attach any and all documentation that you may have. Our office will do our best to ensure that you receive all the points you are entitled.

5. Will the Priority Point System be used in determining if I can get ACC Tournament tickets?

Yes, your Priority Points within your Hurricane Club annual giving level establish eligibility to purchase ACC Tournament tickets.

6. Do BankUnited Center donors receive Priority Points?

Donors to the BankUnited Center, other capital projects and to endowment funds will receive credit in the lifetime giving portion of their account providing they are current donors to the Hurricane Club. You must have a current annual gift in order to activate all points.

7. I am a member of the Above the Rim Club, do I get points for that membership?

Clubs such as the Above the Rim Club and Diamond Studs/Darlings require dues for membership. Their funds go toward the promotion of that specific program, rather than to the actual operation of the program. Therefore, we cannot award points for membership in these clubs.

8. When will point system rankings be run and for what purposes?

Member ranking will change constantly with each gift to the athletic department. Overall membership ranking will be run three times a year. Ranking will be used for football season ticket upgrades, Dolphin Stadium parking locations, away and bowl game seating locations, and post-season basketball tournaments (ACC & NCAA).

9. As a new donor, how do I obtain the best benefits available?

The quickest way to accumulate points is to maximize the amount of your current annual gift. This will allow you to accumulate points rapidly for Hurricane Club benefits allocations (i.e. bowls, ACC & NCAA Tournaments).

10. I am not exactly sure as to how the points system works and how my points are calculated. Who can I talk to?

The Hurricane Club office will be more than happy to discuss your priority point totals with you. Please call (305) 284-6699 for a Hurricane Club representative.

Thank you for supporting Hurricane Athletics.
