Played for Pat McQuaid at Nova High School his junior and senior seasons
Attended North Broward Prep his first two years of high school
Earned Louisville Slugger and Rawlings All-America honors his junior and senior seasons
Hit .435 with five homers, 30 RBI, 45 runs scored and 31 steals his senior year
Played in the high school state all-star game as a senior
As a junior, hit .439 with 10 homers, 45 RBI and 15 steals en route to earning 5A all-state honors as well as all-county honors by the Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel
Earned first team all-county and second team all-state after hitting .489 with nine homers, 40 RBI, 42 runs scored and 25 steals as a sophomore at North Broward
Named second team all-county after hitting .369 as a freshman
Was a five-year varsity starter in baseball
