Joins the baseball team after spending the fall semester as a defensive back
with the football team...recorded 21 tackles during the 1999 season,
including one pass break-up, one forced fumble and one tackle for
loss...highly athletic and brings a lot of speed to the outfield...has not
played baseball competitively since his junior season in high school...sat
out his senior baseball season due to a broken wrist.

Junior Year, 1998: Batted .463 with 48 RBI, five home runs and 33 stolen
bases...also hit seven triples and six doubles...had an .853 slugging
percentage...served as team captain...voted team MVP, as well as
All-Conference and District First-Team...was a second-team All-State
selection...totaled a school record 35 hits and 33 stolen bases as a
junior...guided his team to the district finals...named one the top 100
players in the country by Perfect Game. Sophomore Year, 1997: Batted .410
with 28 stolen bases, 27 hits, two home runs, five triples, nine doubles and
35 RBI...stole 12 bases in three games at the Perfect Game Showcase.
