2005 Season: Carrillo has helped his team win in all 14 games he has pitched in this season and all 33 games he has appeared in in his career. As of May 1, he was tied for the NCAA lead in wins and was seventh in ERA. He leads the ACC in wins and ERA and is holding opponents to .199 hitting this season. Carrillo has not given up a home run in the last 81.0 innings and has given up only 18 extra-base hits all season. He has already established a career high for strikeouts in a season with 96 and is averaging 9.4 per nine innings. In his most recent start against Jacksonville on May 6, Carrillo threw 100 pitches for his second complete game of the season, giving up one earned run and tying a career high with 10 strikeouts in a 4-2 win. The win improved his career record to 23-0 and moved him into fourth place on the NCAA's consecutive decisions won list. Threw a complete game shutout (1-0) against Oral Roberts on March 31, hurling 113 pitches, the last of which was clocked at 95 mph by more than one radar gun. The win against Oral Roberts ran his career record to 19-0, setting a new school record for consecutive decisions won to start a career. He was named ACC Pitcher of the Week twice this season and has earned a no-decision just twice (at Florida and vs. Florida St.). UM ended up winning both games. Won 22nd game of career on his 21st birthday (April 29 vs. Maryland). He held one of the nation's top-hitting programs, Georgia Tech, to one run on six hits in seven innings of work in a 20-1 win (3/25). Carrillo helped Miami to its first-ever ACC win with a 10-strikeout performance against N.C. State (3/4) and picked up a save in his only relief appearance of the season against South Florida (2/12), pitching three innings and striking out six.
