Freshman (2007)


  • Finished 10-4 with a 2.50 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 90 innings in his inaugural season with the Hurricanes.
  • Went 6-2 with a 1.93 ERA in ACC games.
  • Started 13 of 16 games for Miami and recorded one save; first career start came against Elon on Feb. 24, which was a 17-4 Miami win.
  • vs. Florida State (5/25): Posted second win of the season over the the No. 3 Seminoles matching a career-long 8.0 outing in a 9-3 win.
  • vs. Duke (5/18): Tossed 7.2 innings in a 5-1 win holding the Blue Devils to one run on seven hits and striking out three.
  • at Wake Forest (5/12): Pitched 3.0 innings in a continuation of game one of the series, two-hitting the Demon Deacons as UM won 9-8 in 14 innings; 30 minutes later started the game two of the series and tossed 5.0 innings limiting Wake to one unearned run on three hits.
  • at Florida State (4/29): Scattered six hits over six innings and struck out three in the series finale to lift UM to a 7-1 win over the No. 1 FSU.
  • at Clemson (3/30): Pitched six innings and limited No. 11 Clemson to three runs in a 10-3 win.
  • vs. Maryland (3/16): Struck out a career-high 11 in seven innings and didn't allow a run in a 13-3 win.
  • vs. Fordham (3/3): Tossed a career-long eight innings and struck out five in an 8-1 win.
  • vs. UCLA (2/9): Struck out five in four innings and gave up only two hits in his first career appearance to earn his first career save.

  • Played for Clyde Metcalf at Sarasota High School ... compiled a combined record of 18-2 in his junior and senior seasons to lead Sarasota to a combined 55-6 record ... two time first team 6A All-State selection.
