AS A FRESHMAN IN 1997
Appeared in 15 games including nine starts...won all five of his decisions...averaged 8.6 strikeouts per nine innings...Hurricane offense averaged 13 runs per game when he pitched...did not give up a home run through his first 11 career appearances...struck out a career-high eight batters while allowing just one hit in four innings of relief against Oral Roberts (5/15)...had seven strikeouts vs. Florida Atlantic (4/23)...gained win due to pre-arrangement rule in first career start vs. Barry (2/25) not allowing an earned run and striking out six in four innings...recorded his first career save pitching the final four innings and allowing only one run vs. Oral Roberts (5/15).
