BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
One of the top underclassmen in the country at the catcher position ... Will serve as Miami's regular starting catcher in 2009 after starting 33 games behind the plate as a freshman in 2008 ... Strong defensive catcher who threw out 10 of 35 base-stealers and finished with a .981 fielding percentage as a freshman ... One of the team's top power hitters, having hit seven homers last year in just 124 at-bats.

FRESHMANSEASON - 2008
•Named to the NCAA Coral Gables Regional All-Tournament Team
•Started 33 games behind the plate, including 15 of UM's final 16 games
•Hit 69 points higher in ACC play than in the non-conference (.279-to-.210), but hit five of his seven homers against teams outside of the ACC
•Committed just six errors in 323 chances behind the plate (.981 FLD %)
•All four mult-hit games came in a span of 18 days (March 19 to April 5)
•Posted five hits in the Clemson series (4/4-6) and had a career-best 4-for- 5 day with four RBI and three runs scored on April 5
•One of the three UM players that hit two homers in the ACC Tourney(5/21-25), hitting solo shots against Clemson (5/21) and Georgia Tech (5/22)
•Tied for second on the team with fellow catcher Jason Hagerty in recording eight RBI during NCAA postseason play
•Committed just one errror (Georgia Tech - 5/22) in UM's final 16 games
•Started 12 ACC games at catcher; Had a hit in nine of those 12 games

•Named Miami Herald's Class 6A Hitter of the Year in 2007
•Named an AFLAC High School All-American and a second team ABCA/Rawlings High School All-American
•Hit .447 with 48 RBI and 13 HRs in 2007, leading all Miami-Dade hitters
•Named All-Dade County three straight years and all-state in 2006 and 2007
•Led MSHS to the regional semifinals (2007) and quarterfinals (2006)
