College World Series (6/17): Earned Miam's only win in the 2006 CWS, going 7.0 scoreless innings and giving up four hits against Oregon State ... gave up a double with three strikeouts, two walks and a hit batter against the Beavers ... Oxford Super Regional (6/10): Earned a no-decision after giving up nine hits and a career-high eight earned runs in 4.2 innings in Game 1 ... charged with giving up five runs, all with two outs in the fifth inning. Lincoln Regional (6/4): Clinched Miami's 13th-straight Regional Championship with his first complete game ... gave up six hits and three earned runs in the 10-4 win, with two walks and four strikeouts ... retired 14 of the last 15 batters he faced. ACC Tournament (5/24): Was charged with the loss despite throwing one of his best games of the season ... gave up two earned runs on six hits in 7.2 innings with two walks and three strikeouts. at Georgia Tech (5/18): Earned the win, going 5.2 innings and giving up five runs on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts. vs. Wake Forest (5/12): Gave up one hit on the first pitch of the game and then went on to strike out a career-high 11 batters in 7.0 innings to earn the win ... the 11 strikeouts was the most by a Hurricane pitcher since the 2001 season ... also issued three walks and gave up one earned run in the first inning. vs. Wright State (5/5): Gave up a season-high nine hits in 6.1 innings, but earned the win ... walked one and gave up two earned runs. vs. N.C. State (4/29): Made his first Saturday start of the season and gave up eighth hits, five runs, four earned with three walks and five strikeouts in 6.1 innings ... also committed two errors in the field ... earned his second win of the season against a ranked team. vs. Virginia (4/23): Lasted 6.0 innings and gave up six runs, five earned, on eight hits with three walks and a strikeout in the no-decision. at Florida State (41/6): Earned his first win in three starts to ensure Miami of a series victory ... struck out a career-high eight batters and gave up three earned runs on six hits in 7.0 innings ... retired 13 batters in a row at one point ... gave up three hits and two runs in the first inning before rebounding to shut down the Seminoles. vs. North Carolina (4/9): Lost his second-straight start, giving up eight runs on seven hits with four walks and four strikeouts in 4.2 innings. vs. Clemson (4/2): Had his worst outing of the season, lasting only one-third of an inning ... hit two batters, gave up five hits and seven earned runs before being pulled. at Maryland (3/26): Earned his fifth consecutive win in as many decisions with eight innings of two-hit ball ... gave up just two singles for the second-straight game and tied a career high with six strikeouts ... gave up one run, unearned. at Duke (3/19): Had his best outing of the season, going a career-long 8.0 innings and giving up just two hits to earn his fourth consecutive win. vs. Virginia Tech (3/12): Struck out a career-high six batters in 6.0 innings to pick up his third w-- vs. Florida (2/19): Made his first career start and gave up six runs in 1.1 innings with two walks and three hit batters ... cruised through the first inning, striking out two, before hitting the first two batters he faced in the second inning.
Freshman (2005)
Made seven appearances during the season after a long road of recovery from Tommy John surgery and other injuries ... showed flashes of the talent that made him one of the most highly-touted prospects since Jim Morris started coaching at Miami ... totaled 9.2 innings and gave up eight earned runs with 11 strikeouts. At Clemson (5/19): Had his best outing of the season, striking out four with no walks and one hit in 2.1 innings. Vs. Florida State (4/24): Gave up three earned runs on four hits in 2.1 innings of work with three walks and two strikeouts. At North Carolina (4/17): Started fast but was reached in his second inning of work for three runs (one earned) on a three-run home run. Vs. Oral Roberts (4/3): Struck out three but gave up two hits, including a home run and let in three earned runs. Vs. Georgia Tech (3/26): Gave up one earned run on a bases-loaded walk. At Wake Forest (3/20): Pitched two-thirds of an inning and gave up two unearned runs. Vs. Rutgers (3/16): Pitched a scoreless inning in his collegiate debut.
Redshirt (2004)
Maine redshirted in 2004 after tearing the UCL ligament in his left elbow in early January ... underwent Tommy John surgery on Jan. 27 ... began throwing in May of 2004 ... participated in fall practice.
