BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
Saw his workload increase dramatically as a sophomore in 2009, tossing 62 innings after going only 11 1/3 as a freshman in 2008 ... Served as Miami's Sunday starter throughout the season, going 6-5 in 15 starts ... Also saw some at-bats as a designated hitter and pinch hitter, going 9-for-38 with eight walks and seven RBI ... Hard-throwing lefty that could potentially return to the bullpen and serve as a late inning left-handed specialist.
SOPHOMORE SEASON - 2009
•Ranked second on the team in strikeouts (72), tied for second in wins (6) and ranked third in innings pitched (62)
•Tied for the team lead in starts (15) with Chris Hernandez
•Recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts and lasted a career-long seven innings in a 6-2 victory vs. Georgia Tech on March 29
•Spent the entire season serving as Miami's regular Sunday starter
•Hurricanes went 10-5 in games he started, the best mark on the staff
•Went 4-3 with a 6.31 ERA in 10 starts against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents
•In addition to appearing in 15 games as a pitcher, started six moreas a designated hitter and appeared in 13 more as a pinch hitter

FRESHMAN SEASON - 2008
•Made 11 appearances on the mound, all in relief
•Led the team with a 1.59 ERA (2 ER in 11.1 IP)
•Struck out 15 batters (1.3 per inning) and held opponents to a .190 batting average against him
•After appearing in 10 games from March 2 to April 5, did not make an appearance on the mound until UM's final game versus Stanford (6/18)
•Had 14 plate appearances, tallying three hits and two walks
•Recorded first career hit as a Hurricane at FIU (4/2)
•His lone RBI of the season came off a sacrifice fly against FAU (4/1)
•Did not allow a run in his first seven appereances, finally giving up his first earned run on March 26 against Bethune-Cookman

•Played for Ed Doskaw at Southridge High School
•Named a Playstation All-American and a Second team ABCA/Rawlings High School All-American as a senior in 2007
•Played in The Sports Link All-American Baseball Game and the FACA-Pepsi All-Stars Baseball Classic in 2007
•Also a 6A-5A All Miami-Dade County First Team selection as a senior
•Hit .490 with four home runs and 48 RBI in 2007
