CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Enrique Garcia held No. 5 Virginia (22-5, 5-4 ACC) to one run on four hits in five innings and Danny Gil earned his second save as Miami (15-12, 3-6 ACC) won the final game of the Atlantic Coast Conference series, 4-2, Sunday afternoon at Davenport Field. Blake Tekotte, Yonder Alonso, Mark Sobolewski and Roger Tomas each had one hit and one RBI for the Hurricanes.

Sean Doolittle took his second loss of the season. He gave up two runs in six innings and struck out seven.

Gil recorded three outs in the ninth inning and only allowed one base hit. Alex Koronis and Dennis Raben both pitched in relief. Raben threw a scoreless inning and Koronis allowed one run on one hit in two innings.

Miami added insurance runs in the top of the eighth on Sobolewski's RBI single and Tomas' run-scoring double to make it 4-1. Doolittle hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth to make it, 4-2.

Alonso's sacrifice in the top of the sixth scored Tekotte putting Miami ahead, 2-1. Tekotte reached base when he was hit by a pitch to start off the inning. He stole second and moved to third on Jemile Weeks' sacrifice bunt.

Miami scored the first run on back-to-back doubles from Kevin Diego and Blake Tekotte in the top of the third. Diego dropped a double into left center. He scored on Tekotte's double down the left field line giving UM a 1-0 lead.

Virginia tied the game in the bottom of the third. Mike Mitchell singled through the left side and stole second. He scored on a ground out by Tim Henry tying the game, 1-1.

Miami returns to action next weekend when the Hurricanes travel to No. 6 Clemson for a three-game ACC series.
