Hurricanes Earn No. 13 Ranking in USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The University of Miami baseball team earned a national ranking of No. 13 in the preseason USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches' Poll released on Thursday.

The Hurricanes, who have already earned preseason spots at No. 14 from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and No. 18 from Baseball America, finished 2011 with a final Coaches' Poll ranking of No. 24. Miami was one of six representatives from the Atlantic Coast Conference featured in the poll. The other five were: North Carolina (No. 4), Florida State (No. 9), Georgia Tech (No. 10), Virginia (No. 17) and Clemson (No. 23). 

Head Coach Jim Morris, in his 19th year at the helm of Hurricanes baseball, will officially begin the 2012 season on Friday, Jan. 27 with the team's first practice of the spring.
