CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The University of Miami baseball team earned its third Top 15 ranking of the 2010 preseason as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has the `Canes at No. 12 in its preseason poll released Monday.

Miami has now been ranked in the Top 25 in all of the major preseason polls. The `Canes will head into the season ranked No. 12 by both the NCBWA and Collegiate Baseball, No. 13 by the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll, No. 16 by Baseball America and No. 21 by Rivals.com, which also released its poll on Monday.

Texas earned the top spot in the NCBWA poll, followed by LSU, Virginia, Cal State Fullerton and Rice. The Atlantic Coast Conference boasts six teams in the poll's Top 15.

Led by 17th-year head coach Jim Morris, the `Canes will open the 2010 season in less than three weeks when they play host to Rutgers in a three-game series from Feb. 19-21 at Alex Rodriguez Park.
