CORAL GABLES, Fla. - University of Miami junior Kyle Bellamy earned his fifth All-America honor this postseason as the right-handed closer was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-America Second Team on Tuesday.

Bellamy, who has now garnered three first team honors to go along with two second team honors, finished the 2009 season among the national save leaders with 16. In 46 1/3 innings pitched, the Davie, Fla. native allowed just five earned runs while striking out 63 and holding his opponents to a .147 batting average against him.

In a team-high 30 appearances, Bellamy (3-1, 0.97 ERA) allowed just two extra-base hits and finished a perfect 16-for-16 in save opportunities. His 16 saves are tied for fifth in school history for saves in a single season, with 12 of his saves coming from more than an inning of work.

In addition to his ABCA/Rawlings national honor, Bellamy was also named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Atlantic Region First Team on Tuesday.

An All-ACC First Team performer, Bellamy was also named one of five finalists for the prestigious NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award as well as a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, the Dick Howser Trophy and the College Baseball Foundation National Pitcher of the Year Awards.

He has been named first team All-America by Baseball America, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Rivals.com, in addition to a second team honor from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

On June 10, Bellamy was selected in the fifth round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Chicago White Sox with the 163rd overall pick.
