SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - James Dews scored nine of his 17 points in the second half to lead Miami to a 64-58 win over Providence on Sunday night to win the championship of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

The 6-foot-3 sophomore guard, who added two rebounds, scored five points during the last 90 seconds.

The Hurricanes (4-0) also got 16 points from Brian Asbury and 12 from Anthony King.

Weyinmi Efejuku led Providence (2-1) with a game-high 21 points and Dwain Williams added 17.

The Friars jumped out to a 20-12 lead on a jumper by Efejuku with 2:53 to play in the first half. Providence led 22-18 at the half.

But Miami rallied at the start of the second half when Brian Asbury connected from beyond the arc with 16:08 to go.

Providence rallied to take a 51-50 lead with a Efejuku 3-pointer and 4:11 to go. But the Hurricanes surged with strong play from Dews in the final minutes.
