Senior guard Jack McClinton who averaged 33 points in two games last week has been named the Muscle Milk Student Athlete of the Week for the period ending February 8.

In addition to the 33 point scoring average, McClinton shot 62.2 percent from the field (23 of 37) including 11 of 16 (.688) from beyond the three-point line. In the Hurricanes 79-52 win over No. 6 Wake Forest on Feb. 4 at the BankUnited Center, the Baltimore, Md. native scored 32 points on 11 of 19 shooting. In UM's 78-75 overtime loss at Duke Feb. 7, he scored a season high 34 points on 12 of 18 from the field. Against the third ranked Blue Devils, McClinton connected on five of six three-point attempts including a long distance three over two Duke defenders with 14.8 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime play.
