2003 (SOPHOMORE): Saw action in several games as a reserve
offensive tackle...began to grasp the Miami system and made
improvements in technique and overall ability as the season progressed.
2002 (FRESHMAN): Played sparingly as a reserve offensive
tackle...worked hard in the weight room to add strength and bulk
to his impressive frame.
2001 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the 2001 season with a redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Bakersfield...one of the top offensive line
prospects on the Pacific Coast...was a starter from his sophomore
year in high school, starting the final 37 games of his prep
career...a two-time All-State selection who graded at better than
90 percent (91% as a junior, 97% as a senior) as a blocker over his
last two seasons...also punted in high school, averaging 44.9 yards
per attempt as a senior, 39.8 yards per punt as a junior...recorded
58 "pancake" blocks as a senior (blocks where the opponent was
knocked on his back)...an outstanding two-sport (football/baseball)
athlete who excels as a pitcher (91 mph fastball) and an offensive
