Senior who provided the Hurricanes with experience and depth at the cornerback position . . . A big, physical cornerback who is a powerful player with excellent athletic ability . . . Squatted 410 pounds this past spring, along with a 4.5 in the 40 and a 34.5 vertical leap.
2000 (SENIOR): Played in nine games and had two tackles in limited action.
1999 (JUNIOR): Switched to cornerback from safety before the year started…saw limited action at the cornerback position…played in three games during the year, making one tackle.
1998 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in all 11 games at free safety…started the first four contests…also used as the fifth defensive back in UM's nickel package…had 38 tackles, with 16 solo stops…registered a career-best eight tackles in win at Rutgers…also forced a fumble in the game…made first collegiate interception against Pittsburgh…had a fumble recovery and pass break-up in upset victory of UCLA…fumble recovery at UM's 26-yard line with 3:24 left in regulation led to Miami's game-winning touchdown in 49-45 win over the Bruins…also started at right corner in Micron PC bowl game vs. North Carolina State…forced a fumble and returned an INT 27 yards vs. the Wolfpack.
1997 (FRESHMAN): Earned first varsity letter playing in all 11 games as a back-up in the Hurricanes secondary...one of 15 true freshmen to see playing time...recorded 22 tackles (14 solo) with one pass break-up and one fumble recovery...had a season-high five tackles vs. West Virginia...tallied four solo stops at Florida State...had four tackles and recovered a fumble vs. Rutgers.
HIGH SCHOOL: Carol City...Florida Super 24 selection...registered 50 tackles (37 solo) as a senior...intercepted nine passes and totaled 213 return yards, including three picks returned for touchdowns...selected to play in the prestigious Florida-Georgia All-Star game...helped lead Carol City to 14-1 record and the 6A State Championship his senior year...amassed 78 tackles (63 solo) and eight interceptions as a junior...earned two letters in basketball and track...coached by Walt Frazier.
