CAREER: An important player in the quarterback rotation who
started one game in 2003...unflappable competitor who has proven
his poise under pressure several times during his Miami
career...brings an added dimension to the position, presenting
opponents with the ability to improvise on the run...has impressive

2003 (JUNIOR): Completed 34 of 57 attempts for 377 yards
and 3 touchdowns while throwing 3 interceptions...produced a com-pletion
percentage of 59.6 percent...compiled a pass efficiency rat-ing
of 122.1...also rushed 29 times for 75 yards (2.6 avg.) includ-ing
a long of 15...started one game (the Syracuse game) after a
tight quarterback competition in the spring...played in seven
games...completed four of seven attempts (57.1%) for 72 yards
against Louisiana Tech, including a 51-yard completion to Devin
Hester...was a perfect 3 for 3 for 36 yards and a touchdown against
East Carolina...completed two of three attempts (66.7%) for 13
yards with one interception at Boston College...was an impressive
six of seven (85.7%) for 72 yards against Temple...played exten-sively
in the second half at Virginia Tech, completing 13 of 21
(61.9%) for 97 yards and a touchdown with one
interception...made his first start as a Hurricane against Syracuse

2002 (SOPHOMORE):Played in eight games and completed 15-
of-26 pass attempts (57.7%) for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns
without an interception...had a long completion of 33 yards and
compiled an efficiency rating of 155.65 for the regular
season...completed an eight-yard pass to Quadtrine Hill on his only
play in a clutch appearance in overtime of the Fiesta Bowl against
Ohio State...misfired on his lone pass attempt in the win at
Syracuse...completed both of his pass attempts at Rutgers for a
total of 49 yards, including a 33-yard touchdown strike to tight end
David Williams...saw his most extensive action of the season against
Connecticut, completing 4-of-10 passes for 54 yards, including a
29-yarder...completed his lone pass attempt against Boston College
for a 9-yard gain...completed all four pass attempts for a total of 51
yards in the win at Temple, including a 21-yarder...also had a 14-
yard run against the Owls...played most of the fourth quarter in the
win at Florida, but did not attempt a pass...completed 3-of-7 passes
for 55 yards and a touchdown against Florida A&M...threw a 32-
yard scoring pass to Roscoe Parrish in the second quarter of the
FAMU game, the first touchdown catch of Parrish's Miami career.
2001 (FRESHMAN): Played in eight games in his redshirt freshman
season as the backup quarterback...completed 10-of-22 pass
attempts for 100 yards and one touchdown without throwing an
interception in 2001...rushed seven times for 35 yards and one
touchdown...made his debut in the season opener at Penn State,
but did not attempt a rush or a pass while playing virtually the entire
fourth quarter...played much of the fourth quarter against Rutgers,
posting a 24-yard run on a scramble on his first collegiate rushing
attempt and misfiring on his first pass attempt...completed both
pass attempts (16 yards) at Pittsburgh, including a 15-yarder to
true freshman Kellen Winslow, the first pass completion of his Miami
career and Winslow's first reception as a Hurricane...played the
entire fourth quarter in the win over Troy State, completing 3-of-7
passes for 28 yards...did not play in the win at Florida State as the
starting unit went the distance...was 3-of-5 passing for 32 yards in
the win over West Virginia...played the entire fourth quarter against
Temple but failed to complete a pass attempt...did not play in the
win at Boston College...played most of the second half in the win
over Syracuse, rushing twice for 22 yards and one touchdown on a
memorable 13-yard scramble in which he broke four tackles on the
way to the end zone...threw his first touchdown pass as a Hurricane
in Miami's 65-7 win over Washington, a 13-yarder to Jason
Geathers.
