CAREER: Talented long-range kicker who has helped the
Hurricanes as a kickoff man and a reserve placekicker...handled the
kickoff job for much of 2003, sharing time with Brian Monroe in that
role...was the primary backup on field goals and conversion kicks in
2003...candidate for a master's in business administration.
2004 (JUNIOR): Played in the first two games handling kickoffs...Kicked two
extra points in the second half of a 48-0 victory over Louisiana Tech...Did not
play in the final 10 games, though he dressed for every game.
2003 (SOPHOMORE): Stepped into the role as Miami's primary
kickoff kicker during the last half of the season...had good distance
and hang time on his kickoffs...kicked two point-after conversions,
one at Louisiana Tech and one against Temple...made a tackle on a
kickoff against Pittsburgh.
2002 (FRESHMAN): Played in three games...missed an extra
point against Connecticut...made a 56-yard field goal in a preseason
scrimmage...continued to develop his range and accuracy...suited
up for all 13 games.
2001 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season with a redshirt
year...suited up for all 12 games of Miami's national championship
season, but did not see action...practiced with the team during
spring drills after enrolling at UM in January, 2001...originally signed
with Miami in February, 2000, but deferred enrollment until the
2001 spring semester.
HIGH SCHOOL: St. Thomas Aquinas...regarded as the state's top
kicker after the 1999 season...named Class 4A-5A-6A All-Broward
County First-Team Offense by the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel and
Miami Herald as a senior...first-team All-State selection for Class 4A
in 1999...member of the Broward County All-Star team...named
second-team All-County as a junior...as a senior, connected on 22
of 26 field goals with a long of 49 yards...also converted 53 of 56
PAT kicks...timed at 4.8 in the 40...also recorded touchbacks on 60
percent of his kickoffs...over career was 29-35 on field goals and
96-100 on extra points...had game winning field goals against
MacArthur (31-28) in the 1999 regular season and state-power-house
Bradenton Southeast (23-20) in the Class 4A state semifi-nals...
provided the difference in a 38-35 win over Pensacola
Escambia in the Class 4A State Championship...assisted team to the
Class 4A State Championship as a senior...four-year letterman for
varsity soccer team that won state and national championships in
