2000 (SENIOR): Named the winner of Miami's Unsung Hero Award awarded annually by the coaching staff in recognition of a player whose achievements, while greatly impacting the team's success, are overlooked . . . Could be the major factor in a resurgent offensive line that became a force for the Hurricanes after he returned to the lineup for the second half of the Washington game . . . A major contributor in an offensive line that allowed an amazingly low eight quarterback sacks in 340 passing plays this season . . . Helped pave the way for a 1,006-yard rushing season by tailback James Jackson, only the fifth time a Miami back has rushed for 1,000 yards in a season . . . Part of an offensive line that enabled the offense to rack up a school-record 469 points and average a BIG EAST-best 460.8 yards total offense per game.
1999 (JUNIOR): Played in 10 games starting the final nine games of the season at left tackle…helped anchor a Miami line that only allowed 20 sacks all season, while averaging more than 400 yards per contest…helped pave the way for the Hurricanes to average over 170 yards per game on the ground.
