2001 (SENIOR): Versatile lineman who stepped in at crucial times throughout his career to play at center and guard...suffered a knee injury early in the season that required major surgery...provided leadership and assistance to his offensive line mates despite missing much of the season due to the injury...Fifth-year senior who has provided valuable work as a reserve center...main role was as a backup center to starter Brett Romberg...an intelligent player who excels at run blocking and has quick feet, good leverage and flexibility...excellent athlete who originally signed a letter of intent to attend Miami on a track scholarship...has backed up two All-BIG EAST centers in three years at Miami (Romberg and Ty Wise)...one of 10 Texans on the Miami roster.
2000 (JUNIOR): Played extensively in six games...came through in extensive playing time in the Louisiana Tech and Virginia Tech games after starting center Brett Romberg suffered a dislocated and lacerated pinky finger on his right (snapping) hand...was a top reserve for an offensive line that allowed an amazingly low three of the eight quarterback sacks suffered in 340 passing plays...helped pave the way for a Miami rushing attack that produced a 1,000-yard rusher and averaged 194.8 yards per game...part of an offensive line that enabled the offense to rack up a school-record 469 points and average a BIG EAST-best 460.8 yards total offense per game.
1999 (SOPHOMORE): Played in six of the Hurricanes twelve games as a back-up to All-BIG EAST center Ty Wise...saw action against Florida A&M, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse and Temple.
1998 (FRESHMAN): Saw action in five games...provided back up to Ty Wise at center.
1997 (REDSHIRT): Spent season on scout team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Duncanville...Dallas Morning News first-team All-Area and All-District selection at right guard after leading team to a 10-1 record as a senior...All-State honorable mention as a junior and senior...honorable mention All-American as a senior...rated as one of the top-10 offensive line prospects in the state of Texas...also lettered in track placing second in District in the discus (165'-4") as a senior in helping his team to a second-place finish...regional qualifier three consecutive seasons...District champion in the discus as a sophomore...set school records in the shot put (55-0) and discus (181-0)...coached in football by Bob Alpert.
