A fifth-year senior who has battled injuries throughout his career, but has tremendous potential . . . Was limited in action this season due to ankle and back injuries . . . One of the team's top students, Rhodes already has earned an undergraduate degree in sociology and currently is pursuing his graduate degree.
2000 (SENIOR): Recorded eight tackles (four solos) on the season and had one tackle for a loss of three yards . . . Started at defensive end in the season opener vs. McNeese State, registering five tackles (two solos) . . . Suffered a severe ankle sprain against West Virginia and missed the next five games . . . Returned to action against Pittsburgh, but did not make a tackle in limited action . . . Made two tackles in the shutout victory at Syracuse, but was injured during the game and missed the Boston College game . . . Was hurt in the back when speared by teammate Damione Lewis while attempting a tackle . . . The injury, a bruised back, caused a hematoma which eventually caused kidney trouble . . . Rhodes was hospitalized for two days prior to the Boston College game, losing 20 pounds while his kidneys recovered.
1999 (JUNIOR): Appeared in all 12 games on defense and special teams...totaled 13 tackles on the year with six solo stops...totaled three quarterback hurries...had one sack for a loss of eight yards... totaled two tackles against Florida A&M...set a career-best with two solo stops at East Carolina...recorded a career-high four tackles, two solo, at Boston College...had two tackles against Rutgers...recorded a sack and totaled two tackles against Syracuse...finished the regular season with one tackle against Temple.
1998 (SOPHOMORE): Valuable member of special teams unit... appeared in 10 games...registered 10 tackles, including three solo stops...did not play in Syracuse game...recorded a personal-best four tackles in win at Cincinnati...had a tackle for loss vs. Boston College.
1997 (FRESHMAN): Sat out the season recovering from a broken toe.
1996 (REDSHIRT): Spent season as a member of the Hurricane defensive scout team.
HIGH SCHOOL: LaPorte...All-District linebacker...Houston Chronicle Greater Houston Area Top 100...a Dallas Morning News Texas Top 100...in on 77 tackles and two sacks...also had two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and one fumble caused...gained 500 yards rushing as a running back during junior year...also played basketball....grew up in a 4-3 defense similar to Miami's scheme...coached by Forest Wiegland.
