Tony Sorrentino is in his second season as offensive graduate assistant. The College of New Jersey grad came to the University of Miami with a wealth of coaching experience having spent time at every level of the game since graduation.
Prior to Miami, Sorrentino served as the quarterbacks coach at the University of Minnesota during the 2010 season. He spent the 2009 season as the offensive quality control coach under then-Gopher offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch working extensively with the quarterbacks and wide receivers.
While quarterbacks coach at Minnesota, Sorrentino tutored prolific signal caller Adam Weber. During the 2010 campaign, Weber became the fifth quarterback in Big Ten history to have 10,000 or more passing yards and became the Golden Gophers' all-time career touchdown passes leader.
Sorrentino began his coaching career at his alma mater coaching the linebackers and helping lead the Lions to the 2007 NJAC Championship. He spent that summer interning with the Baltimore Ravens working with the quarterbacks. Sorrentino became an assistant at Montville Township High for the 2008 season, working with the tight ends, defensive ends and kickers.
The Parsippany, N.J. native was a four-year letterman and All-Conference NJAC wide receiver for the College of New Jersey.
