• Was an AP All-South Independent First-Team selection
• Named Honorable Mention All-American twice
• Maintained a 4.0 GPA during the 1989 season
• Member of Iron Arrow Society for his outstanding leadership, character and service to the University
• Member of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Society
• Twice won the CBS/Toyota Leadership Award (1990 and 1991),
the only two-time winner in Miami history
