2006 (FRESHMAN): Saw action in six games at both center and left guard until suffering a torn ACL in his left knee...Missed the final three games...Played center in three games and guard in three games...Got his first collegiate action against Florida A&M as a reserve center in the second half...Played as the backup center on the final offensive series of the North Carolina game...Saw backup action at center in the fourth quarter of the FIU game...Played some left guard at Duke and Maryland...Played left guard in the Virginia game until suffering a torn ACL in his left knee in the first quarter...Underwent surgery on Nov. 20.
2005 (REDSHIRT): Redshirted as a true freshman but impressed coaches with his play on the scout team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Two-way lineman and team leader who began his final high school season at guard before moving to tackle (played offensive tackle his first three years of high school)...As a senior in 2004, graded out at 91 percent, the highest ever for a player at his school...Also played some fullback...On defense, made 81 tackles, 10 sacks and 20 tackles for loss as a defensive end, defensive tackle and middle linebacker...Was selected to play in the CaliFlorida Bowl...As a junior, was selected All-County and All-State...Did not play organized football until high school...Rated the No. 8 offensive guard prospect in the nation by Rivals.com, as well as the No. 27 offensive lineman by Scout.com, the No. 44 prospect in the country by the Orlando Sentinel, the No. 43 overall prospect in the country by the Tampa Tribune, a member of the Florida Times-Union Super 75, and the No. 10 offensive line prospect in the South by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution...Chose Miami over Notre Dame and Florida...Coached by Mike Jalazo.
