1998 (JUNIOR): Started every game at center…hard-nosed competitor who was named the Hurricanes Weight Lifter of the Year…provided valuable leadership along a young offensive front…moved to center this season after starting seven games last year at left guard…switch to center has attributed to increased production in ground attack as UM went from averaging 170.0 yards rushing a game last year to 202.9 in ‘98…leader by example who implemented an off-season conditioning program for his offensive linemates that including pushing his Ford Ranger pickup truck the length of the practice field in a timed race…voted one of five team captains by his teammates.
1997 (SOPHOMORE): Played in nine games...made eight starts, including seven at left guard and one at center…made first career start at left tackle against West Virginia…made first career start at center against Temple…helped Miami record its third 1,000 yard rusher (Edgerrin James) in school history…started all three games, two at left guard and one at center, when Miami set a school-record rushing for more than 300 yards in three consecutive games (Boston College, Temple, Arkansas State)…started on offensive line that helped Miami rack up 575 yards of total offense against Boston College including a school-record 271 yards rushing by Edgerrin James.
1996 (FRESHMAN): Was the backup center to K.C. Jones...saw significantly increased playing time after redshirting his first season.
