STANFORD, Calif. - University of Miami Head Football Coach Butch Davis and senior center Ty Wise (Pensacola, FL) will represent the East team in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday, January 15 at 4 p.m. ET at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, CA. Davis is one of three coaches for the East squad, while Wise is one of 90 seniors participating in the annual all-star game.

Davis will coach the East squad along with Steve Spurrier of Florida and Nick Saban of Louisiana State. Bruce Snyder of Arizona State, Dennis Franchione of Texas Christian, and Larry Smith of Missouri will coach the West.

Wise, a three-year starter and two-year captain at center for the Hurricanes, was a first-team All-BIG EAST selection in 1999. Wise helped pave the way for UM's 4,853 yards of total offense en route to a 9-4 season capped off by a 28-13 win over Georgia Tech in the Toyota Gator Bowl. Wise is known for his unique off-season training which involved pushing his pick-up truck up and the use of a special chicken-wire cage, designed by the senior center, that developed technique and footwork.

The East-West Shrine Game in its the 75th year, benefits Shriners hospitals across North America. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
