CORAL GABLES, Fla.-- Nineteen University of Miami student-athletes played in their first career game as a Hurricane in Miami's 45-0 win over Florida A&M on Sept. 2. players made their first appearances as Hurricanes against Florida A&M:

Three players made their first career starts against FAMU: Brandon McGee, Ben Jones and Tyler Horn.

 

 

Other newcomer highlights against FAMU: Redshirt freshman running back Lamar Miller carried the ball 11 times for 65 yards a touchdown against the Rattlers. He led the 'Canes with 122 all-purpose yards en route to ACC Rookie of the Week honors.
- Fellow running back Eduardo Clements - a true freshman - also got in and carried the ball six times for 23 yards.
- Junior quarterback Spencer Whipple saw his first action as a `Cane, throwing 3-for-4 for 22 yards during the second half.
- Several offensive linemen earned their first career appearance - including Seantrel Henderson and Brandon Linder - while junior college transfer Chase Ford saw significant action at tight end.
- Defensively, Kacy Rodgers and Shayon Green each had a tackle in their first career game.
