THIS WEEK'S GAME: The Miami Hurricanes return to the field on Saturday when they host the Houston Cougars in a nationally televised game at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN2 in the Orange Bowl. The Hurricanes did not play last weekend and are 1-2 this season, looking to get back to .500 and get on a roll in the middle part of the season.

There is still a lot of stake for the Hurricanes, who still have their goal of winning the Atlantic Coast Conference and receiving a berth in a BCS bowl game. "We have a lot left to play for," said head coach Larry Coker. "We can still win the ACC and play in a BCS bowl game. That's our goal."

The Cougars are 4-0 after a 34-25 win against Oklahoma State on Saturday. Houston is off to its best start since 1990 after beating Rice, Tulane and Grambling before Saturday's win over the Cowboys. Ayear ago, Houston advanced to the Fort Worth Bowl and finished 6-6. They are led by quarterback Kevin Kolb, who is the active career leader in Division I-A in completions, passing yards and total offense.

The two schools have played 17 times, with Miami holding a 10-7 lead in the series. UM is 6-3 at home and has not lost to Houston at the Orange Bowl since 1973. In 2004, Miami traveled to Houston and won 38-13 at Reliant Stadium. Miami has won the last four games in the series by an average of 23.8 points. With a victory, the Hurricanes hope to move back into the AP and Coaches polls. After the September 16 loss to Louisville, Miami dropped out of the poll for the first time since 1999. Houston is also unranked but did receive votes in both polls, like the Hurricanes.
