Jason Cook spent two seasons (2004-06) as an assistant coach with the University of Miami. Cook left UM following the 2005-06 season.

Cook came to Miami after a decorated career as a player in both the collegiate and professional rankings.

On the collegiate level, Cook played three seasons at UCLA from 1996-99. At UCLA, he garnered both All-America and All-Conference in 1999 and won the Pac-10 Singles Championship in 1998. He also helped lead the Bruins to National Indoor titles in 1997 and 1999 and a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships in 1999.

Prior to UCLA, Cook spent one season at the University of New Mexico where he was named the WAC Freshman of the Year in 1996.

As a professional, Cook has worked and competed with some of the tennis world's most recognized and accomplished players. Throughout his pro career, Cook served as a practice partner for the likes of such tennis greats as John McEnroe, Pete Sampras and Jim Courier and was ranked as high as No. 340 in doubles and No. 560 in singles in the ATP professional rankings.

In the summer of 2003 he worked with the USTA Rookie Pro Team, of which he was also a member in 1999.
