Final Stats

Charlottesville, Va... The top-ranked University of Virginia men's tennis team picked up its 20th win of the season with a 7-0 victory over No. 26 University of Miami on Friday afternoon at the Snyder Tennis Center.

"They were just too good today," said Miami head coach Mario Rincon of Virginia's play. "We need to regroup and simply play better to finish out the regular season strong."

It was the most lopsided loss in over a year for the Hurricanes, who fall to 9-5 overall and 2-3 in the ACC, while the Cavaliers' record remains untarnished at 20-0 on the season and 6-0 in conference play.

Virginia got a strong start in doubles play, sweeping all three matches to take the 1-0 lead. The Cavaliers extended their lead to 2-0 with a win by top-ranked Somdev Devvarman in the No. 1 singles position, and then Virginia went on to clinch the match with straight-sets wins at No. 5 and No. 2.
