Coral Gables, Fla. - University of Miami sophomore Daniel Vallverdu (Valencia, Venezuela) was among 21 student-athletes - including eight repeat honorees - named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men's Tennis Team, announced ACC Commissioner John D. Swofford.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and have maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his academic career.

Vallverdu wrapped up a successful sophomore campaign in 2007 earning his second All-America honors - and first in singles competition - after advancing to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Singles Tournament. He finished the season ranked 34th in the country with a 26-10 record and was a repeat member of the All-ACC Men's Tennis Team, as well as the All-ACC Academic Men's Tennis Team.

Vallverdu is joined on the All-ACC Academic Men's Tennis Team by: Dylan Arnould (Duke), Joey Atas (Duke), Scott Blackmon (GT), Roz Bizjak (Clemson), Kiril Dimitrov (Duke), Kevin Fleck (Clemson), David Goulet (Duke), Pedro Graber (VT), Sebastian Guejman (UNC), Lenny Gullan (UNC), Dominic Inglot (UVA), Soma Kesthely (BC), Albert Larregola (VT), Marko Miklo (UVA), Nickolai Nielsen (Maryland), Arvid Puranen (VT), Zachary Rath (GT), Yoann Re (VT), Peter Rodrigues (Duke) and David Stone (UNC).
