PHILADELPHIA - The University of Miami's men's and women's Track and Field Teams wrapped up the second day of the prestigious Penn Relays on The University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field. 

Four-time All-American Tim Harris led the men's sprint medley relay to a third place finish. The senior was joined by Van Dyke, Jones and Nelms for a time of 3:17.80.  Mississippi State and Louisiana State were the only competitors to cross the line before the Hurricanes.

 

The men's relay team ran a 41.24 in the 4x100.  Shawnbrey McNeal, DeMarcus Van Dyke, Khalil Jones and Bruce Johnson finished 23^rd out of the 80 competing teams.

 

Sophomore Cory Nelms competed in the 110-meter hurdles, coming in 10th place with a time of 14.09.

 

Senior Casey McGinn finished 11^th in the pole vault at 4.60m.

A day after qualifying for the Women's College Division Championship after a prelim time of 45.06, the 4x100 relay team of 2008 ACC Outdoor Performer of the Year Kristy Whyte, Tara Thomas, Charlene Fuller and Nene Kamate, won the event with a time of 45.04, their sixth NCAA Regional Qualifying time in the event on the season.

The team of Takecia Jameson, Ti'erra Brown, Deandra Doyley and Kamate finished third in the shuttle hurdles with a time of 55.58, finishing behind only Texas A&M (52.96) and Lousiana State (52.77).

Also finishing third was the sprint medley relay team of Fuller, Tameka Jameson, Kamate and Ena Leufroy.  Their time of 3:54.36 was behind only the host institution Penn (3:52.09) and Louisiana State (3:46.65).
