CORAL GABLES - The University of Miami women's basketball team will head to Berkeley, Calif. to face the Cal Golden Bears in the Women's National Invitation Tournament Championship Game at Haas Pavilion on Saturday, April 3.

The Hurricanes defeated the Michigan Wolverines 76-59 in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Wednesday night and awaited the outcome of the Cal-Illinois State game, which was played Thursday evening in Normal, Ill. The Golden Bears cruised to a 61-45 victory.

The contest will be played this Saturday at 2 p.m. EST and will be televised nationally on CBS College Sports.

Miami will be playing in its first WNIT Final. The tournament expanded to 64 teams this season from 48 in previous years. The Hurricanes advanced to the championship game after defeating Florida Gulf Coast, Florida, North Carolina A&T, Providence and Michigan.
