Audrey Bañada, a former four-year letterwinner under head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews, is in her first-season as Miami women's tennis volunteer assistant coach.
As a player at the University of Miami, Bañada was a three-time All-ACC performer and the school's all-time singles leader having collected 110 wins in her career, including 32 her senior campaign in 2006-07.
In her career at UM, Bañada owned a record of 110-32 (.775) in singles play and 119-32 (.788) in doubles action. In the final 2006-07 national rankings, Bañada ranked No. 42 in the country in singles play and No. 25 in doubles action when teamed with Romy Farah. Bañada and Farah went 31-10 on the season as a pair, going 11-6 in the No.1 position.
Bañada was named Academic All-ACC on three different occasions and was one of two female ACC student-athletes to be nominated for the 2007 NCAA Woman of the Year award.
In 2005-2006, she won the South Region Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship. In 2004-05, she teamed with Megan Bradley to earn All-American status in doubles play with the pair going 27-3 overall, ranking as high as No. 2 in the country before finishing the year ranked sixth nationally.
Her freshman season, Bañada finished with one of the best single-season singles record in school history, going 31-2 (.939), playing primarily in the No. 5 position.
She graduated from the University of Miami in the spring of 2007 with a degree in Exercise Physiology.
