Michaela Kissell, a sophomore on the women's tennis team who has won eight consecutive matches including five straight this Spring, has been selected as the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the period January 26 to February 1. Currently ranked No. 50 in the nation (No. 13 South Region), Kissell breezed through three opponents last week, all playing for nationally ranked teams. She collected three straight-set victories last week, including two in the ITA National Indoor Qualifier (Coral Gables) where she dropped just one game the entire weekend. She also teamed with Bianca Eichkorn--where the two are ranked No. 14 nationally in doubles play, for three-wins last weekend at the No. 2 doubles position for the Hurricanes. Together, they defeated the ninth-ranked team in the South Region in doubles play (University of Tennessee) to secure the doubles point for UM in that match.
