CORAL GABLES - University of Miami's Khadija Talley has been named the NCAA Southeast Region Field Performer of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. 

 

The senior from Columbus, Ga. recently qualified for the NCAA National Championships in both the discus and the shot put.  Her season best throw of 57.10m (187-4) in the discus broke her own school record and currently ranks her fourth nationally.  She also finished second at the NCAA East Regionals in the shot put with a career-best mark of 17.02m (55-10.25).

 

The two-time ACC Discus Champion will travel to Des Moines, Iowa with nine other Hurricane women student-athletes to take part in the National Championships, June 11-14.
